Gaining a comprehensive and honest insight into how your team/employees think and feel about key organisational issues and processes is not just a non-essential nicety but is crucial for the growth and success of a business. Although many organisations would like to have this level of understanding of their business, they fail to recognise its value and importance and therefore do not prioritise it. This level of information not only holds the answers to questions concerning levels of engagement, motivation, productivity and staff turnover, but allows an organisation to identify those key areas which, with the required level of focus, will accelerate organisational effectiveness and growth, taking an organisation and its people from good or average to outstanding.
Traditionally, this sort of information has been gathered using (anonymous) questionnaires, but designing, distributing and collating, evaluating and communicating results is a time-consuming activity.
The purpose of Mindstrong’s Team Execution Survey in gathering this information is to help you sharpen your focus and execute your goals. It does this by identifying trends and areas for development, evaluating and scoring your business in 6 core Principles of Execution:
The survey also evaluates and provides scores on how effectively your people work at the following levels within your business:
Mindstrong’s Team Execution Survey is distributed via email, but can be distributed by hard copy where preferred. Completed surveys are returned to us and not members of your organisation to maintain anonymity. (Respondents often only feel comfortable in expressing honest opinions if they believe that their responses will remain anonymous.) We generally allow 10 working days for completion of the survey and we take responsibility for chasing up late responders.
On receipt of all completed questionnaires we produce a report for you. For each question you will see your score, the average score and the Top 10 % score, plus a breakdown of how many respondents selected each option. You will also see a score against each of the 6 core Principles of Execution and for each of the 3 Levels of Working; Organisational, Team and Individual, along with your overall score.
We do not recommend surveying for the sake of surveying. The effectiveness of this tool is in its ability to highlight areas for development and measure changes in these areas over a period of time. We therefore suggest that having highlighted areas for development, a plan to address these areas is put in place and the survey distributed again to evaluate the effectiveness of your development plans.
The survey is made up predominantly of multiple choice questions, but also contains some open-response questions. The addition of these open-response questions adds further value to the process because it lets your team/employees know that you value their opinions, this in turn can help in raising levels of engagement and motivation within the organisation. It can also uncover ‘hidden’ issues that would have otherwise remained unaddressed.
Mindstrong’s Team Execution Survey is suitable for all organisations, and for groups of any size within an organisation. Since its purpose is to identify areas for development and evaluate the effectiveness of any subsequent interventions, it is best suited to organisations and teams looking to improve their overall effectiveness. Some organisations however do choose to use it just for monitoring purposes. It can also be a useful tool for comparing different teams/departments within an organisation.
A Mindstrong Business Coach will discuss with you your reasons for surveying, your desired outcomes and what the culture of the survey group is like. Your Business Coach will then be able to advise you on how best to distribute the questionnaire to yield the best results.
